　1948年ドイツで生まれ、L.A.へ移住し音楽に溢れた一家で育ったジャクソン。24歳でデビューする以前から、その作風で音楽業界ではすでに注目を集め、アサイラムレコード創立者デイヴィッドゲフィンと出会います。72年アルバム『Jackson Browne』でデビューし、その中から「Doctor My Eyes」がトップ10ヒットを記録。同時期にイーグルスの「Take It Easy」を共作したことで、シンガー・ソングライターとして揺るぎない地位を確立しました。青春期の苦悩や葛藤を、シンプルなメロディーにのせて描き出す詩世界は、聴衆に大きなインパクトを与え、『Late for the Sky』『Pretender』『Running On Empty（孤独なランナー）』などの名盤を次々と発表しました。
　近年は環境破壊や反原発運動など社会問題にも意欲的に取り組み、2011年には、東日本大震災を受けたチャリティ・コンサートも開催。その他数々の貢献は世界的に称賛されています。
　デビューから間もなく50周年、今年（2020年）4月には新曲「Downhill From Everywhere」をリリースするなど、今もなお精力的な活動を続けるジャクソン・ブラウンの名盤14枚を、アコースティック作品も併せてお届けします。
